Aloe Vera - Why your skin loves it.

Aloe Vera - Why your skin loves it.

Aloe is a cactus-like plant that grows in very hot and dry climates and it has the benefit of soothing sunburn.

Now, read that again.

How amazing is that?

Imagine yourself as a lone traveler, wayfaring across the desert... parched, dry and burnt.

You crawled up to this plant, where when you cut it up, and there is this mysterious gel inside that you can scoop out, and place it on your burnt, parched skin….healing it.

This is the quiet beauty and the giving kindness of nature.

For your dry, inflamed and parched skin, Aloe is a healer:

  • A remedy for sunburn
  • Improve healing of skin wound/ scarring
  • Has anti-inflammatory properties (minimizes skin irritation)
  • Moisturizes the skin
  • It is an essential treatment for Acne

WHAT IS ALOE VERA?

A cactus plant that naturally develops in arid environments.

The magic lies within its luscious-like leaves - it contains a clear gel that has active ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, enzymes, salicylic acids, and amino acids. Generally, these ingredients offer exceptional moisturizing and skin-healing abilities.

REMEDY FOR SUNBURN

Aloe Vera’s natural anti-inflammatory and cooling effects makes it one of the most organic treatments for sunburned skin. To boost, Aloe also comprises substances known as aloin and anthraquinones, which provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce pain and encourage healing.

IMPROVE HEALING OF SKIN WOUND/ SCARRING

Aloe vera increases the amount of collagen in wounds as well as altering its composition and boosting collagen cross-linking. Since it has the ability to increase skin cell regeneration, Aloe Vera is a natural remedy for acne scars. Investigations in science have shown that the gel can make the skin more flexible and less brittle because 98% of aloe vera is made up of water.

MINIMIZES SKIN IRRITATION

Skin redness, itchiness, infection - you name it, Aloe vera’s natural soothing and anti-inflammatory properties can manage them. That makes Aloe vera an amazing skincare ingredient for sensitive skin and even skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Dermatologists suggest that Aloe's antiseptic, antimicrobial, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory characteristics may help to relieve eczema by moisturizing and shielding it from external aggressors.

MOISTURIZES THE SKIN

Aloe works well as a moisturizer because it does not leave a greasy layer on the skin while keeping the skin moisturized. It is regarded to be incredibly helpful for dry skin types as it contains humectants, which draw moisture from the air or deeper inside the skin. Additionally, Aloe has mucopolysaccharides that bind moisture to the skin and adheres to flaky epidermal skin cells, giving the skin a softer appearance and enhancing skin’s overall health.

TREATS INFLAMED ACNE

Salicylic acid, cinnamic acid, urea nitrogen, sulfur, and phenols are all compounds found in aloe vera that naturally prevent the growth of fungi, bacteria, and viruses (antiseptic properties). Additionally, it possesses anti-inflammatory properties that inhibit acne-causing bacteria. To boot, Salicylic acid is now one of the greatest methods for preventing acne since it removes dead skin cells from the epidermis and lessens irritation and redness.

WHY DID WE USE THIS INGREDIENT IN OUR TONER?

After cleansing, we wanted something to further remove properties that can still remain on our skin that causes bacteria. By having a toner with Aloe Vera in it, we can harness its anti-inflammatory properties that inhibit acne-causing bacteria.

At the same time, we wanted our toner to have a little exfoliating effect. So that it can clear the path, for our essence and serum to work through the skin better. We included AHA in our toner. AHA exfoliates.

But with all exfoliation, it strips away old skin, to prevent it from irritating new skin, we added Aloe, so that its soothing properties can protect the skin from being inflamed, or irritated during the exfoliation process.

The healing properties serve as a protection as well as an added bonus of anti-inflammatory on top of soothing any irritation.
